Martin Luther & MLK spin on Inauguration Day , also the truth about Juneteenth

The President is being inaugurated for Four More Years today , which is also MLK day . His speech was rumored heavy on immigration reform , and gun control . Not much on Civil Rights tho . He promises action  on climate control too ( tax increases ) , in response to his 10,000 dead in that Kansas tornado . Would someone please ask Baghdad Jim ' Carny ' Carney about those numbers ?

In Obama's Book, The Audacity Of Hope ,  he said, " If the political winds shift in an ugly direction, I will side with the muslims."  He has . He gave Egypt to the Muslim Brotherhood by legitimizing those islamists , flushing our $63B in a secular state  in the process . Time and again he sided w the Sharial law types and those hoping for the protections of Civil Law could just take to the back of his rather shorter Bus . MLK and Martin Luther will roll over counterclockwise at his betrayal of Civilization . Neither man would qualfy for full Civil Rights  in their system , since neither was an adult muslim male . Under Sharia they don't count .

The only Societies worthy of being called Civilized have equal rights for all . How on Earth could a Black President not know that ?

Ok , on to a Texas oddity . Houston had 2 Parades today for MLK , uptown and Down . There is an annual Coin flip for the prime location between competing groups . They do not get along , yet remain loyal Democrats , blissfully unaware their President eschews Civil Societies  , and when financially convenient denies his own US Citizenship . ( See yesterday's Postage ) .

Dunno if you remember SNL awarding Stevie Wonder a  commissioned painting to honor his lifetime achievement and when they unveiled it the words ' Please Don't Tell Him ' were where the painting should have been . He is of course blind , and wasn't in on the gag . This is evocative of the special ' Texas ' emancipation day 6/19/ 1865 , otherwise known as ' Juneteenth ' .  Students of history will note some discrepancy w the date of the original Emancipation Proclamation and the date the slaves were freed in Texas . Of course travel was difficult 150 years ago  and Newspapers hard to find , much less read . Still PDUS suspects that quite a few Texans had heard tell of the status change , and they made financial decisions not to inform the help .  Some two and a half years later a Galveston slave came by the news and informed all his friends and family . They told the State , and only a little late . The date the news arrived is now celebrated .

Now none will share the information between worshipful fans at those dual Parades that their Erkelesque Emperor has no Clothes . I wonder if it is PC to wonder if they are as Blind as Stevie Wonder , but I wander . Mostly I wonder why we re-elected this man .

  2. Did you know this was ' Blue Monday '?
Your Christmas bills are overdue , and the IRS may expect to hear from you soon . Also heard that this is ' National Squirrel Day '.

    How did they know ?

  3. Also, thanks to my beloved Mark Steyn, who can still make me laugh out loud even on the most depressing day, it is Hump Day, halfway thru the Erkel term.

I dread the next four years, but at least hisself is on the downward slide. I keep thinking of the answer we got over the last four years as to how can we make this stop??? The pitiful and feeble answer was VOTE! You have your chance to change it on November 6! Well, we voted, and we got more of the same. When I think of how hopeful we were leading up to that day, I feel twice as depressed. We were like sheep en route to slaughter. Sorry to be so down, maybe now that we are past Evil Yesterday, we can brighten up some...

  4. I got a kick out of Steyn's Hump Day Gag too .
Seemed apppropriate enough , we are at least on the down side , ( which is not the same as the ' down low ' ).

The traditional reponse to the Hump Day news , was ' I will have to remind the wife ' . Unfortunately one would arrive home , and she would be of differing opinion .

This may occur w Erkel as well , but his ahem , manly duties are presumed the more 'submissive' of the duo . He just has to lean back and take it . I doubt he hums Rule Brittania for the duration . The rumor is he hums other things .

  5. I imagine he would hum his beloved call to prayer, such a beautiful sound to him...

  6. I imagine him humming something all together different . I bet Rahmbolina knows the tune .

  7. Speaking of that ' Call to Prayer ' , I had suspicions that was what Ray Lewis was mouthing during the National Anthem .

It was NOT the original words , and I am pretty sure he mouthed the word ' Allah ' , twice . Never liked the thug , even if he was a very good LB .

  8. I bet he was humming that tune from South Pacific ....' I am gonna wash that man right out of my Hair ' .

  10. You guys have heard me praise Texan JJ Watt before as NFL Defensive MVP , and fine citizen . He may be an Eagle Scout version of Lawrence Taylor .

I got an email from a friend who does not read here , or know how big a Watt fan I am . She sent this video which I had not seen .

You might consider joining this kid's fanclub .
Were I a switch hitter I would want to date him . Seems like a lovable guy .

  11. Excuse me while I find a case of kleenex! Wow! JJ Watt is the opposite of Ray Lewis, no?

Hi all! Been absent due to medical issues with Mr S. He was hospitalized again - weak and dehydrated and with a fever. Not optimal when one is doing chemo. Infection and low white blood count and all. We are fighting the nausea and trying to get him stronger so he can do this again next week. (!)

Prayers accepted altho he is more in Preptile's pew in that regard...I am not.

Now humpty dumpty: What is with the gum chewing during the parade? I thought he was going to puff the cheeks and blow a bubble gum bubble, but I'm sure it was nicorette. And his voice...he does that southern preacher thing at the end of a pleading sentence. It is most annoying and sounds so phoney baloney. (No I could not bring myself to watch, but on The Five they showed lots of clips. I was grabbing for Mr. S's nausea meds.)

  12. Warmest thoughts and prayers for you and Mr. Suzy. It must be a really rough road to get thru all the weeks of chemo. I'm hoping he will regain his strength...and that you hold on to yours, Suzy Dear.

I caved on the Lunch Monster clip, in fact watched it in disbelief and disgust several times. Seeing hisself chewing gum, a habit I despise anyway, would really push me over the edge. What a truly disgusting pair. Well, this is what America (certainly not all, but just enough) has chosen, and we are stuck with this. My plan is to ignore them as much as possible until they are gone.

  13. You will always be "Susan" to me, since that's the first way I saw you addressed, when you suddenly appeared one Sunday after a long absence, and Preptile exclaimed, "Susan! It's a miracle!"

Here's praying for another one for Mr. Susan, so that his body may heal, and that both your spirits remain positive. You yourself are blessed with a grace and a wonderful sense of humor.

  14. He may be the opposite of Ray Lewis . Had he not been an awesome player the thug would have been in jail . Should have been .

    From Wikipedia :

Following a Super Bowl XXXIV party in Atlanta on January 31, 2000, a fight broke out between Lewis and his companions and another group of people, resulting in the stabbing deaths of Jacinth Baker and Richard Lollar. Lewis and two companions, Reginald Oakley and Joseph Sweeting, were questioned by Atlanta police, and 11 days later the three men were indicted on murder and aggravated-assault charges. The white suit Lewis was wearing the night of the killings has never been found.

Soon to be sharing cell w OJ we hope .
Seems to me he had a gun in that nightclub , that also conveniently disappeared . I think there is mandandory jail time on that charge , which would have embarrassed the NFL .

  15. Lewis and his thug Posse walked on rulings of self defense . They had the best lawyers NFL money could buy . Lewis got a years probabtion for ' giving police a false statement ' .

He was an accessory to murder .

    Ok , rant over ...

Speaking as the Rooster in the this Henhouse I am pleased to be surrounded by all my little Chick-a-Dees who have uncrossed the road this morning . We worry when you guys are away , but always feel better on your return .

    Now I need to train ya'll w a few Dog tricks .

Let's try a few easy ones first .

Austrians from Turkey are angry about Jabba the Hut , from Star Wars .

They think he is one of their own .

  20. Hey good morning and how did you get this baby picture of Daisy to put in The Daily Puppy - above?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I read the link to the Telegraph re: Jabba and his HUTT. I wonder if Hillary knew about THIS?

If anyone watched yesterday's hearings Sen Rand Paul asked Hillary if she knew anything about arms being transferred from Libya to Turkey. She was as surprised by his question as whe was to learn about Monica.

Mr Suzy and I watched both sessions of hearings yesterday on C-Span. I got my housework and patient tending done each time a democrat took his 5 minutes to slobber and wet kiss the Secretary of State. Hand me a handi-wipe, stat!

  22. I had not heard about those Turkeys either Suzy , so thanks for the info . We can put it in our Erdogan the Islamist file , along w his buying oil w 64 TONS of Gold to circumvent the Iranian UN embargo . Don't get me started , altho I suspect you just have .

  23. Msaero reminded me of our countdown clock to the election , late of the sidebar .

I do not miss it , as it was only a fuse to National disaster . Maybe I will re-consider when we hit 999 , which upside down is portentious .

The Daily Puppy tho , has brightened my mornings more than you would believe . What is it that a simple Foto can do ? Does it light up a memory lobe associated w pleasure ?

Dogs and puppys especially are always glad for the diversion of your company . When I see that entire rear end wag the rest of the dog , I see why we like them . I can see that looking at the still photos in the Puppy File .

BTW , readers searching our archives read that Wonder Puppy Post a lot , along w three or four others . I should add a ' Greatest Hits 'linkage in our sidebar to our top 10 favorites .

Some like the Falachi page have always gotten steady traffic , just as they should . Some of the others may have been missed by the newer readers . They are probably intimidated by the sheer size of our pile of it , and dunno where to look for the good parts . We could help .
